Superbowl 2006
Super Bowl Sunday was marked with more than just touchdowns, field goals and cool commercials.
In Tarzana, California, at the home of Jason Pietruszka, Valley NCSY had close to 50 Jewish teens come together to enjoy the game, be among friends and hang out with staff members Devorah Lunger, Eliezer Jones, Yudi H and Rabbi FE who were all in attendance to make sure everyone had a great time.
There was also the "Game Ball" that everyone signed to be raffled off at the end of the game. Congratulations to Odeliah Bouganim for winning the ball. However, what truly elevated the game (besides the Steelers winning), was the beautiful Mincha davened together instead of watching the half-time show.
What also showed the spirit of West Coast NCSY was the spontaneous Kumzits that broke out in the backyard when it became obvious Seattle was not coming back to win. What started out as
an ordinary Super Bowl Sunday became a wonderful Jewish experience.
